I had forgotten how differently paced life is when you must go into the office to work. From the moment you wake up, you feel as if you cannot catch your breath.
Is there enough time to get my run in? … Did I remember to lay out all of my clothes last night?… Meal prep. Notebooks packed. Keys found… Wait! Is it snowing?
Outside the window, the world turns blue as dawn nears above the clouds, and the streetlights illuminate the driving snow. The street is full of white; two lonely tire tracks mark the passage of some intrepid soul.
How nice it has been not to need to brave this, I think. How spoiled. How soft.
Knowing the difference, how do I conscience going back?
