“We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.”
—Ernest Hemingway
Welcome to my workshop. You will find here the raw work, the unpolished gems, the b-sides, and the rarities. It’s a playground and an experimentation lab meant to give you an intimate look at the writer I was, am, and mean to become.
My name is Katie Baker. I am from a small town in rural Pennsylvania where the deer outnumber the people, the hills are mountainous, and the summers burn fierce and green and luscious. My work often deals with deep truths and small moments; it captures the essence of my own personal setting and invites the reader to engage in the universality of human experience. My stories have been published locally in Wellsboro’s Small Towne Reader and internationally in TWJ Magazine and Adelaide Literary Magazine.
